Africa Disaster Response and Virus Research Foundation is a foundation trust with headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. The organization was set up in light of the existing plight of natural and artificial disasters in Kenya and Africa at large.The founders realized that the international efforts in Kenya though rewarding, did not completely tackle disasters. The idea behind the Africa Disaster Response unit and Research foundation was to tackle the issue of biting disasters in the country. By targeting projects aimed at disaster reduction, the foundation seeks to improve the living standards of not only Kenyans but Africans in general.
The dilapidated state of rural establishments in Kenya is very sad and melancholic. Many Kenyans are born out of poverty and struggle to survive before they can make a living for themselves. The cost of living is also very high. The poor people who earn less than a dollar a day are forced to live on two. This is why settlements in most rural communities encompass many families in one. It is becoming more difficult for Kenyans to afford. This is why it is important to help these communities manage a decent living, afford education and raise decent families in the future by managing disasters and climate change.
